Saturday PUBLIC VIEWING nights at the Failand observatory

Next Observing Session

October 2019

Status

We will now be closed for public observing until October. Have a fabulous summer and we'll see you again when the dark skies are back.

The society's observatoryMembers open the Society's Observatory at Failand for free for the General Public on most clear Saturday Nights.

We welcome visitors including family, friends, neighbours with or without telescopes and binoculars etc. No astronomical knowledge or skill is required except interest in what you may be about to observe!

For further information on how to attend, including details on where to find us please email:

saturday.observing@bristolastrosoc.org.uk

PLANNING TO ATTEND?

Due to the variable nature of British weather we make the decision to run or cancel these meetings early on Saturday evening. We indicate the latest status here and on our BAS HOME page - be sure to bookmark this!

We would ask that you do not arrive before the stated start time as we need time to get the telescopes ready for use

Sessions usually last for a couple of hours but close early if the sky clouds over.
