Normally all Friday meetings will be held at Bristol Photographic Society (BPS), Unit 13, Montpelier Central, Station Road, Montpelier, BS6 5EE. Click here for  directions to BPS

Member Talks Nights are not just for members! Everyone is welcome to come along for an eclectic mix of astronomy related talks given by BAS members.

We will hold two Telescope Surgery Nights on 24 November 2017 and 9 March 2018  where you can get expert tips and training on how best to use them. Please book in advance via email or phone if bringing your own equipment due to space restrictions.

smiley Talks labeled with a smiley may be of interest to younger visitors (secondary school onwards) and students that are interested in science and astronomy.

Georges Lemaître: The Father of the Big Bang. In 1931 the Catholic priest, George Lemaître, published a paper suggesting the expanding universe had a beginning in space and time.
